I began the start of my Freshman year today. As a short girl (5 foot solid), I had to do the whole look up while people are talking to you thing. And I had to watch out because I easily could have gotten trampled. It was rough. Last night, I prayed that God would let my love for him shine through me in these next 4 years. High School is where people get messed up. They can be church goers because their parents go, and "Christians" when they really don't care or talk to God. But, if you surround yourself with people who are believers, and live for Christ you will find it is easier than it seems. God WANTS us to talk to Him, to be honest with Him, and tell Him our problems. If we block the Lord from our mind it makes it hard for Him to get in contact with you. It's like your phone... When you are texting someone constantly and they start to get annoying or you don't feel as close to them anymore you begin to shut them out. It begins with you ignoring some texts (God interupting your life), then you begin to completely stop talking to Him (shutting off your phone or blocking their messages). No matter how much God tries, if you aren't willing to take a step into His plan for you, He won't be able to be your friend. But, when we get to High School people do start to ignore God's ideas and even their relationship with Him. High School is also the place, where things start changing. Everything changes. Our friends, our apperance, our likes and dislikes, it's when people start growing up. Those can be hard to get through. We need help. We need help that another human being can't give us. No matter how "perfect" your best friend is, there will be problems and it will be very difficult to tell them about your problems and get help when they have problems of their own. God cares SO much about each and every one of our problems or things that make us upset. He wants us to tell Him. He knows but, he wants us to explain our situtation to Him so He can build our relationship with Him. This is when we need God the most. When we feel like we don't. My main point is if you are struggling with your relationship with our Lord, talk to him. Tell him. Tell him why you want to be friends with Him. He understands ALL of your problems more than you do. Make God your best friend. It takes time. I'm still working on being best friends with Him just like you. Don't think you are too sinned up to bring such an amazing thing into your life. Pray to God right now and ask for forgiveness. Remember when you do that: all your sins. GONE. That is the cool part.
